HI children!!

Once again you get to share and tell your friends . . .
Hmmm . . . fractionally Equal .

Indeed, What exactly are we dealing with??

    2 4
    -+ - =?
    3 9
    2x3=6
    --- -
    3x3=9

    6 4 10
    - + - = -
    9 9 9

Denominator must be same when we + or - fractiionsto turn them in to like fractions.Only than we can proceed addition and subtraction.
    for eg.10
    -- =improper fraction
    1 9
    1- =mixed number

There are 100 boys and 100 girls.
(b)80 children, how many hong baos are there? How many boys are there? How many girls are there?
    80/2=40(boys/girls) 40x3=120(boy's hong baos)

1.Fractions have like and unlike fractions.
2.Like fractions are fractions that have the same denominators.

Fractions have denominators and numerators. They can be added, subtracted, multiplicated and divided. You have to have like fractions in order to add or subtract. You can change an unlike fraction to a like fraction so that you can add or subtract.
    (eg.)
    3 4 3 8 11
    -+-=-+-=--
    6 3 6 6 6
The answer above can be changed into a mixed number.
    11 5
    --=1-
    6 6

    Thus, the answer is 1-.

  15. -----------FRACTIONS---------

LIKE FRACTIONS ARE FRACTIONS WITH SAME DENOMINATORS. EG.2 OUT OF 5 AND 3 OUT OF 5

UNLIKE FRACTIONS ARE FRACTIONS WITH DIFFERENT DENOMINATORS. EG.2 OUT OF 5 AND 3 OUT OF 10

ADDING LIKE FRACTIONS IS SIMPLE! JUST FOLLOW AN EXAMPLE FROM ME BELOW:

    2 OUT OF 5 + 3 OUT OF 5= 5 OUT OF 5

    *5 OUT OF 5 IS = TO 1 WHOLE!

ADDING UNLIKE FRACTIONS IS A BIT DIFFICULT....

LET ME GIVE U AN EXAMPLE!
    BELOW:

    2 OUT OF 5 + 3 OUT OF 10 =????

YOU --MUST-- CONVERT 2 OUT OF 5 TO 4 OUT OF 10
BECAUSE THE FRACTIONS MUST HAVE THE SAME DENOMINATORS TO PLUS!!!

NOW THAT THE BOTH FRACTIONS HAVE THE SAME DENOMINATORS, JUST PLUS THEM!

4 OUT OF 10 (WHICH IS 2 OF OF 5 IN THE FIRST PLACE) + 3 OUT OF 10=7 OUT OF 10

*7 OUT OF 10 IS IN THE SIMPLEST FORM!

    ---------RELATIONSHIP TO FRACTIONS---------

FRACTIONS IS RELATED TO WHICH TOPICS OF MATHS?

FRACTIONS IS RELATED TO PERCENTAGE, RATIOS AND DECIMALS!

1 OUT OF 10 IS THE SAME AS 0.1 IN DECIMALS.
1 OUT OF 10 IS THE SAME AS 1:10 IN RATIOS.
1 OUT OF 10 IS THE SAME AS 10/100% IN PERCENTAGE.

Fractions with the same denominator are called like fractions. Fractions with different denominators are called unlike fractions.Adding unlike fractions is
    simple!For example,4/12+1/12 is the
same as 4+1. So,the answer is 5/12.(by the way, subtracting like fractions is almost the same)
Adding unlike fractions is not the same. You have to change the denominator into the same number to add.(this is a must)Let me show you how.(this is also the same as subtracting unlike fractions)
    1/6+5/12=2/12+5/12
    =2+5=7

    : 4 out of 5 x 3 out of 5 = ?

Since the denominators are the same, you just x the numerators. DO 4 x 3 =12

As I say , we should make it the simplest form, so we DO 12 (numerator) divide by 5 (denominator) =2 wholes remainder 2 right?

    so the answer is 2 wholes 2 out of 5 ( 2 )

But remember that when you reduce to the smaller number you can reduce only from the numerator to the denominator. You cannot reduce numerator to numerator or denominator to denominator.

When We Times Or Divide Fractions,
We Do Not Need To Change The Denominator.
When We Times Fractions, We Times The Numerator With The Other Numerator And We Times The Denominator With The Denominator.
We Cancel Or Reduce Fraction By The Left Fraction's Denominator To The Other Right
Fraction's Numerator. We Also Can Reduce Or Cancel The Numerator Of The Left Fraction To The Other Right Fraction's Denominator.

When We Divide Fractions, We Need To Change The Right Fraction To The Opposite.
    Example:5/3=3/5.
Then We Can Times The Fractions Together.

    Topic:Fractions!!

How to divide fractions by a whole number:

for example:Mr Cheong had 2 over 5 of a cake.He divided the cakeequally among 4 pupils. What FRACTION of the cake did each pupil get?

    1.2 over 5 x 1 over 4=1 over 10

So, each pupilgot 1 over 10 of cake.

    MULTIPLICATION OF FRACTIONS
When we MULTIPLY fractions with another fractions,we must multiply the denominator with the denominator. Then we multiple the numerator with numerator.
Reduce all numbers to the lowerest term first. This will make the multiplication easier later because we don't need to handle big numbers after multiplication.

  71. ---PRODUCTION OF PROPER FRACTIONS---
There are two methods of mutiplication.

    3/4x8/9=3x8/4x9
    =24/36
    =2/3

    Another method is:

    3/4x8/9=1/1x2/3
    =2/3

For the second method,I divided 3 and 9 by the common factor,3.Then,I divided 8 and 4 by 4.

In order to add fractions, the denominators must be the same eg.
    2/9+4/9=6/9=2/3
If the fractons are divisible by any of the multiples, change it to the simplest form.Take the above answer as an example.

    6/9=2/3

    5/5 4/4 3/3 2/2 ...become one
When the denominator and numerater is the same,it is one.
    4/5=8/10=16/20
before you add, make sure that the denominator of the fractiionsare the same

denominator tells us total equel part
numerator tells us number of equel part.
like fractiion is when the denominator of the two fractions are the same.
unlike fraction is when the denominator of the 2 fractions are same.

  75. FRACTIONS:

1)Like fractions are fractions with same denominator.

2)Unlike fractions are fraction with different
    denominators.
    1 3
3)Equivalent fractions are like - and - . They can divide and multiply equally.2 6

4)To subtract unlike fractions, you must change both fractions into their first common multiple.

5)Fractions are made up of equal parts.

6)Numerators tells us how many equal parts were chosen.

7)Denominators tells us the total equal parts.

8)When you add or subtract fractions, the denominators must be the same.

    total length=5/6m
    string left=5/6m-3/5m=1/2m

Thus,1/2m is the answer. You must write the answer statement.

The length of string left is 1/2m

    FRACTRION
When you divide things into equal pieces, the number of the pieces is the denominator of the fraction. It is "under the line".The number "above the line"is numerator.

    eg.|--|--|--|--|--|--|
so if you want to form a fraction,6 is the denominator of the fraction.

    |//|//|--|--|--|--|
2 is the numerator of fraction.
The fraction will be two over six.

Denominator tells us the total equal parts.
Numerator tells us the number of equal parts to select.

    ADDING/SUBTRACTION OF FRACTION
Before we add/minus ,we have to made sure that the denominators of the two fractions are the same.If they are not the same , we have to change them to like fractions.

    MULTIPLICATION OF FRACTION
When we are multiplying the fractions , we multiply numerator with numerator, denominator with denominator. Then change the answer to the simplest form or change improper fraction to mixed number.

    Fractions

There are three kind of fractions.
    1.fractions 2.mixed fractions
    3.improper fractions
The numerator tells us the number of equal parts we select.
The denominator tells us the total number of equal parts.
The denominator must be the same for like fractions.
The denominator is different for unlike fractions.
To add and subtract fractions, change unlike fractions to like fractions first.
We must always change fractions to the simplest forms.
We can change improper fractions to mixed numbers.
We do not need to change the denominator if we are multiplying or dividing.

If you compare a fraction with the same denominator, the fraction with the bigger numerator is the bigger fraction:
    4/9 and 7/9 : 7/9 is bigger

If you compare a fraction with the same numerator, the fraction with the smaller denominator is the bigger fraction because they are cut into less equal parts. Thus, each part is larger.

An equivalent fraction can have similar size: 4/8 and 1/2 , 2/6 and 1/3

    What I understand

1)There are three different types of fractions. They are the mixed numbers, improper fractoins and proper fractions.Example:

    1 2/3 is a mixed number
    8/4 is an improper fraction
    1/2 is a proper fraction

2)A fraction always has a numerator and denominator. It can sometimes have a whole number.Example:
    whole number-2 5-numerator/8-denominator

    3)Fractions are equal parts.

  81. 1)Fractions are numbers which are written as 1/2, 3/4 or 5/6.These are equvelent fractions.

    2)There is also improper frations and mixed numbers.eg:5/2,18/9,1 2/3 and 6 5/9

    1)fraction have a numerator and a denominator.a
numerator is a number on the top of the
fraction.a denominator is the number on the bottom.example:2/3.the 2 is the numerator and the 3 is the denominator.
2)there are three kind of fractions :
    a mix number:2 2/6
    a proper fraction:2/5
    a improper fraction:3/2

  83. 1.Fractions can be covered to proper fractions ,improper fractions and mixed nubers to decimals. It can beconverted to decimals by converting to tenths ,hundredths and thousandths ,using long devision or a using calculator.
2.We can do ploblem sums with fractions by drawing models as it would make the question more easier to understand
3.We can also multiply proper fractions ,and divide a proper fraction by a whole number
4.Fractions have denominators and numerators.Examples : 2/3 << the number that is above is called "numerators" and the bottom number is always called "denominators
    5.Fractions is equal parts
6.Whenever you do addition or subtraction, you must make the denominators to be the same numbers then you add or subtract. When the numbers of the denominators are the same ,that is called "like fractions"

When we want to find out the area of a traingle, we must always take base times height.

When we multiply base and height, the base MUST be perpendicular to the height.

Since a traingle is half of a rectangle or square, we must do this:

For example, if the base is 10cm and the height is 30cm, we must take 1/2 X 30 X 10.

    Answer is 30 X 10 = 300 1/2. Half of 300 is 150

    Answer: 150cm square
